Rock Candy

In January 2007, Jay-R and partner, Dee Agarwal, pooled P6 million as initial capital to renovate a bar located at the Ayala Glorietta-2 Mall in Makati. Their aim is to transform it into a hip and funky bar known as Rock Candy.
Jay-R said his friend Sarah Meier, an MTV VJ, came up with that name. It came from their usual saying, "hard as a rock and sweet like candy."
After lots of hardwork, Jay-R ande Agarwal launched Rock Candy last February 21 with a star-studded opening night. Jay-R was also active in promoting the bar through radio ads and TV commercials.
Jay-R has no fromal background in business but it is his passion for music and his dream of owning a bar that motivated him up to start the business. He also learned that he needs a lot of contacts, sponsorships, events, and publicity.
Rock Candy caters to people who enjoy R&B, hip-hop, house, trance, new wave, and techno music. It opens Wednesdays to Saturdays from 9:00 pm onwards. Wednesday is "Ladies Night," Thursday is a night of glam, trance and house music. Friday night is Candy Friday R&B and Saturdays are 2-4-1 "Hip-Hop Nights."

Ratsky

It was January 18, 1997 when randy Santiago, together with his 12 partners started Ratsky at Greenhills with P7 million in their pockets. "Ratsky" means lazy eye, Randy's high school day's label. Ratsky moved to Malate and today earned three branches: one in Tomas Morato, one in Cebu City and the old outlet in Malate.

Being a singer, his restaurant is a good hub for music and entertainment. It is always a good choice when you are happy doing it. Like Randy, Ratsky is a place for fun and talents to customers. And one thing very interesting is that he puts much budget on the sound system. He believes that sound quality matters in a restaurant. With this kind of belief, he's business is a mix of food and music bar, which many people thinks it's interesting.

He also places a high value on food. Filipinos love to eat what they like, so at Ratsky, dishes are well-served. But his bestsellers remain Ratsky's six variants of pizza.

Ratsky outlets attract 200-300 people each night in lean season but increases up to 700 in December-February months.

Ratsky also host parties, corporate events, debuts, and student get-togethers. You can contact their branches with these numbers:

  • Ratsky Malate (02) 523-86-08 to 10

  • Ratsky Cebu (032) 234-2113

  • Ratsky Morato (02) 373-9881 to 83
